Getting Started

Here's 10 ways you can get plugged in to the community.

1. Sign up and create your profile. If you can, upload a photo--we'd love to put a face with the name.

2. Introduce yourself to the rest of the community.

3. Check out the latest activities by clicking on one of the links on this page. There's new stuff every day!

4. Join in the Forum discussions or create one of your own.

5. Customize your profile page by clicking on the "My Page" tab at the top. Consider adding your ministry's logo and colors.

6. Upload and share something you've created: a video, slideshow, etc.

7. Create a group to connect with other people (Free Market model...built around whatever works) or join one that's already been created.

8. Add content to the wiki (you'll need your own WetPaint account).

9. Use the calendar to post an event that other youth workers might be interested in attending.

10. Invite a youth ministry friend to participate--it's free and anyone can join us!

If you have any questions or are unsure of what to do, send a message to one of the facilitators: Eric Wilbanks, Rod Mock, James Halfhill, Aaron Maners, or Eric Partin.

Welcome to YouthChurch.com!

Our goal is to make this a safe place to collaborate with other youth leaders...sort of a digital "Third Place" where ideas and insights are batted around freely and generously. Of course, we know that everyone will approach this community differently. But whatever level of involvement you choose is cool. All we ask is that you help us maintain an environment that's fun, supportive and responsive to the needs and interests of others.

Looks like it is the female yp's chiming in here. I'm full-time ministry at our church. I guess my question would be does she have any other options for insurance (does she work a job/hold a career that has health benefits? If yes, than I wouldn't...

Youth Pastor Wife's Insurance

We have been in our church for just over a year. We are working hard with an older congregation to help them see the benefits of youth ministry. God sent a young man our way to a few weeks ago. He is fantastic.
I know that his being at our church is a tremendous asset. We really want to keep him. We are providing Individual health insurance for him.
Do you guys find that providing insurance for his wife would be… Continue

K.I.S.S.

I heard someone say to me one time "Keep It Simple Stupid"! I can't help but wonder if God is sitting in heaven wanting to say the same thing to us. We have over complicated this being a Christian thing. As believers we get rapped up in this world of "christian talk" and speak in terms and phrases that we only use on Sundays, you know what I mean! We quickly forget where we came from...also we kind of put a doormat at the door and say you have to clean up your life before we let you in. This is… Continue
